Russ received his first "microcomputer" in 1982, and was hooked on the new technology (yes, this was before the World Wide Web!).
Despite his love of computers and technology, Russ' career path took him into business management and ownership at a young age - including positions as owner/publisher of two weekly magazines, general manager of a fundraising company, and operations manager at a technology supply company and a lighting distributor.
In 2002, around the time that Russ was looking to make a lifestyle change, he recognized a gap between programmers and graphic designers in the web design services offered to small business owners. Larger firms could hire teams of specialists, but small businesses often dealt with freelancers or small firms who specialized in one side of the business or the other. As a result, web sites were either beautiful but not functional, or had lot of features but looked cluttered, inconsistent, and unprofessional. And in either case, often the designer didn't take the time to develop a clear strategy for the business, understanding how the new website would fit in to the marketing strategy and business methods of their client.
In 2004, Russ rebranded as "Internet Advisor" to highlight the unique skill set he brings to the web design market. His experience in business, marketing, and strategic planning provides a wider perspective (along with some strong opinions) that his clients have come to appreciate.
